On writing well (8)

"Don't ever become your prisoner of a preconceived plan"

It's all about writing well.

All writing is ultimately a question of solving problem.

Unity is the anchor of good writing.
Unity satisfies the readers subconscious need for order and reassures them that all is well at the helm.

Before writing, you plan by asking yourself questions;  how do you want to address the reader? As a reporter, Provider of information..
What style do you want to use? Personal but formal, personal and casual...

There must be;
Unity of pronoun
Unity of tense. (present/past tense; pick a tense that will be uniform throughout the writing
Unity of mood (casual or formal)

Writing is no respecter of blueprints. If you feel your writing isn't flowing with the thoughts you have envisioned earlier before starting, you can always make repairs.

Go back to the beginning and rewrite, so that your style and mood will be consistent from start to finish.
